During the public comment portion of the Nov. 19 meeting of Independent School District 622, four community members — Jenny Cook, Cindy Swoim, Adom Horwoth and Aleilo Pierre-Louis — told the board they were concerned about the sick-time language in their contract and asked for clarification or revision. The speakers asked the board to review negotiated language that they said affects leave use and accrual.
The board did not take formal action on the contract language during the meeting. The matter was raised in public comment only; no motion or referral appears in the minutes to indicate the board directed staff to open bargaining or to schedule a follow-up agenda item. The concern will remain part of the public record and may appear on a future board agenda.
