The Independent School District 748 board met Nov. 8 in the District Center Board Room and voted unanimously to pass a resolution canvassing the returns of the school board general election. Director Jason Nies moved the canvass resolution, Treasurer Jen Smith seconded it, and the board adopted the measure on a 5-0 roll-call vote.
The board recorded the final tallies for the contest: Chelsea Thielen 5,683; Tricia Meling 5,197; Matthew Moehrle 5,040; Michael Ringstad 4,757; Michael Gruber 4,706; Aaron Alexander 4,060; Write-ins 66. The roll-call vote listing those who voted in favor—Nies, Moehrle, Meling, Larson and Smith—was entered into the meeting record. The canvass formalizes the district's official count and enables the issuance of certificates of election.
