Presenter highlighted the district's posted core values and asked whether they are still the right public statement for the division. Staff explained the values were developed with leadership and stakeholders and had recently been used as the theme at new-teacher orientation and convocation.
Committee members discussed trade-offs between a single, unified set of values and school-level autonomy to craft age-appropriate language. One staff member said the convocation speaker was a district employee who helped socialize the language and that investment had been made in posters and collateral to reinforce the values. Participants agreed more work is needed to translate high-level language into concrete behaviors and measurement.
