District table groups shared a range of strategies to improve student engagement and reduce barriers to participation, recommending steps such as "fostering positive relationships with students," encouraging extracurricular participation, and developing programs in collaboration with community organizations including Booster Clubs and PTO.
Participants framed these ideas in response to an Integrated Guidance Application prompt asking what improvements have been made engaging focal students, families and staff and what barriers remain. The recommendations will inform ongoing strategic planning work but did not result in any immediate policy or funding decisions at the meeting.
