Superintendent recommends individualized attendance targets after ODE metric change

During the Aug. 23 District Leadership Team meeting, Superintendent Helena Chirinian said the district should move to "developing a more realistic attendance goal based on individual student attendance, rather than group averages," citing recent changes in state reporting and measurement practices.
Chirinian argued that individualized targets would give the district a clearer basis for interventions and planning now that ODE has discontinued growth-percentile measurement. The change will require staff to adjust reporting practices and possibly rework district benchmarks for the coming year.
