Presenter outlines annexation, sewer question for Klondike-area cottages

The presenter said the project has one constructed “double” cottage (eight bedrooms), a second double under consideration and several single cottages planned later as demand dictates.
The presenter told the council the previously requested sewer connection for the first cottage was contingent upon annexation and asked that the second cottage be allowed to connect if it becomes ready for occupancy before the annexation is finalized. “We had requested a sewer connection for that cottage, and, that was contingent upon the annexation of the property,” the presenter said during public comment. Council members discussed nearby road repairs and a bottleneck at Cherry Hill Park that should be addressed before adding more sewer load uphill.
Speakers described possible site layout options, including a pavilion that might be relocated depending on capacity constraints, and noted the project would feed into the town’s TIP (tax increment) district as property and development progress. The presenter estimated room on the site for several cottages but said a final layout has not been completed. The council did not take a formal vote on the annexation during the meeting; the update served as a status report and a request for the council to consider sewer-connection timing.
