The Yellow Medicine East ISD No. 2190 Board of Education reorganized for 2025 at its Jan. 13 meeting, electing Jeremy LeBlanc as board chair. LeBlanc was nominated by Sonja Pederson; Sonja Pederson was elected vice-chair (nominated by Laurel Christianson), Matt Zempel was elected clerk (nominated by Amanda Lecy), and Laurel Christianson was elected treasurer (nominated by Sonja Pederson).
The board announced committee memberships for 2025, including the Negotiation Committee (Jeremy LeBlanc, Abbey Richter, Ron Winter), Finance Committee (Laurel Christianson, Sonja Pederson, Matt Zempel) and Policy Committee (Laurel Christianson, Abbey Richter, Matt Zempel). The board also named representatives for external roles: American Indian Parent Advisory (primary: Matt Zempel; alternate: Abbey Richter), MVCC board representatives (Amanda Lecy, Sonja Pederson, Ron Winter), MRVED representative (primary: Amanda Lecy; alternate: Sonja Pederson) and MSHSL representative Ron Winter. Jeremy LeBlanc will serve as the district's MSBA liaison.
The reorganizational votes were taken during the motion-and-approval portion of the meeting and carried as presented.
