Board accepts 2024 ACFR audit from BKC, notes four recommendations

The Alexandria Township Board of Education on Jan. 16 accepted the annual ACFR/Financial Audit for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024, as prepared by accounting firm BKC and noted four recommendations that the district will address in a corrective action plan.
Board members moved the audit approval as part of the consent agenda. The motion passed on a roll-call vote with eight yes votes, zero no votes and one absent. The agenda item as posted described the audit and referenced a CAP that responds to four audit recommendations noted in the ACFR. The board’s School Business Administrator/Board Secretary recorded the audit on the agenda and in the motion language.
Board President Michael Small also publicly acknowledged the audit presentation during the meeting. The district will implement the corrective action plan steps described in the audit package; specific timelines and assigned responsibilities for those items were included in the CAP attached to the motion (document on file with the Business Office).
