District recognizes inaugural leadership-development graduates; announces Sarah's promotion

At the start of the Jan. 17 meeting staff recognized participants in the district's first leadership development program. A staff member announced that Sarah has accepted promotion to director of engineering and will formally assume the role on Monday.

Several program participants spoke briefly about personal takeaways. Colby, who identified himself as an operations specialist for utilities, said the course helped him with self-reflection and applying district core values. Sydney Hoffman, an accounting assistant, described learning tools for cross-department collaboration. Board members and the general manager praised the program and encouraged continuation; staff said the program did not guarantee promotion but was intended to develop internal leadership and succession capacity.
