The Board approved a formal reclassification of the district Classroom Improvement Fund to better align with spending expectations under state budget law.
Paul Southerton explained that, under Oregon Local Budget Law, the district determined Classroom Improvement Fund expenditures more appropriately fit a Capital Projects Fund classification rather than a Special Revenue Fund. Staff recommended approving Resolution 2024.2025.0004 to implement the change beginning with the 2025–26 fiscal year. Vice Chair Pam Shields moved to approve the resolution and Director William Mohring seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The reclassification will be reflected in next year's budget documents and financial reporting to ensure compliance with state budget classification requirements. The Board did not record any changes to program eligibility or specific project funding within the minutes.
