The district moved forward on seismic upgrades for Oliver Middle School after a staff presentation outlining the work and procurement status.
Paul Southerton, director of business and operations, told the Board the seismic project has been engineered, designed and competitively bid, and recommended the Board authorize administration to award the project "in the amount up to $2,500,000" and grant signature authority to complete contracts. Vice Chair Pam Shields moved to approve the authorization and Director Claudia Andrews seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The authorization allows district leaders to finalize contracts and proceed with procurement consistent with the project design and bid results. Board members did not record further conditions in the minutes; implementation details are to be administered by Business & Operations with typical contract oversight and reporting.
