Parent urges Cascade High School to allow students to sit in cars during lunch

During public comment on Sept. 9, Jennifer Knierenman addressed the board about the high school's closed-campus lunch policy. She asked the district to allow students to sit inside their cars during lunch and said it would give students a safe, sheltered place to be during the school day.
Knierenman said she believes campus supervision is sufficient to monitor behavior and argued that the district could revoke the privilege if students failed to behave responsibly. She also told the board she filed a request to speak and approached the podium to deliver her remarks.
