Student rep: Coffee Cave grosses $5,000 as winter athletics prepare

Lucas Vanderlip, the district’s Student Representative, told the board that fall sports concluded with playoff appearances for both boys’ and girls’ soccer and that winter basketball preparations are underway with seven seniors and a first home game on Dec. 14. He said greater student engagement is evident across extracurriculars and FAFSA sign-ups are underway.
Lucas highlighted the Coffee Cave student-run enterprise: “...which grossed $5,000 in its first quarter—a record—and is expanding its offerings,” he reported. Board Chair Jay Trost praised the engagement: “I just want to tip my hat to all the people involved who are exposing our young people to career choices that haven’t traditionally been a focus.”
