The Cascade School District #5 Board of Directors recognized Karen Ramseyer on Sept. 9 as she stepped down after 36 years of service to the district. Superintendent Darin Drill opened the segment by acknowledging Ramseyer's multiple terms as board chair and vice chair and thanking her for long-term support of district activities.
Board members, administrators and Ramseyer's family offered remarks of appreciation and gratitude during a planned celebration; the board recessed at 6:50 p.m. for about 20–30 minutes for cake, photos and public congratulations before reconvening at 7:15 p.m. The meeting was adjourned by Ms. Ramseyer at 8:55 p.m.
