District outlines $59 million facilities plan, seeks matching and seismic grants

Board members discussed pursuing multiple grant opportunities to reduce local tax impacts. The district plans to apply for a $6 million OSCIM matching grant to secure $12 million for critical plumbing and infrastructure repairs, and CCS Engineering is preparing a separate $2.5 million grant application aimed at seismic upgrades at the high school — work the board said could be coordinated with plumbing and electrical upgrades while walls are opened. The board also noted HMK Group will present targeted recommendations at the December meeting to help phase repairs and cost estimates.
