Superintendent highlights summer PD series and maintenance progress ahead of school year

Superintendent Henry briefed the board on the start of the district's summer professional-development series and ongoing maintenance work intended to improve school facilities before the start of the school year.
"So today, we started, day 1 of our talent teaching talent summer PD series," a staff presenter said, describing multiple sessions and a closed registration window on July 27. Henry thanked custodians, painters and other service personnel for summer work — stripping, waxing, painting and ceiling-tile replacement — and described specific maintenance actions, including work to repair leak-related gym-floor damage at Berlin. He said maintenance crews had begun replacing ceiling tile across the county and that additional custodians were hired to assist.
The superintendent noted plans for continued walkthroughs and progress meetings and said staff will report back at the August 17 meeting with additional updates.
