Board appoints Doug Froke as interim superintendent through June 30, 2025

At a special meeting on Oct. 3, 2024, the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle School District Board of Education voted 4'2 to appoint Doug Froke as interim superintendent effective immediately through June 30, 2025 and approved an interim agreement covering that period.
The motion was made by Clerk Tanja Levin and seconded by board member Jager. The roll call showed yes votes from Levin, Lemke, Jager and Wright and no votes from Gohman and Wolf. The minutes record the effective date and length of the interim agreement but do not include any posted job announcement or public interview schedule.
Superintendent Daniel Ludvigson questioned the process and noted concerns about whether a posting, interviews and public involvement had occurred prior to the appointment. The minutes record his statement: "Mr. Ludvigson questioned the process as to the fact of a posting requirement, no interviews were conducted, involvement from the public and those kinds of things to comply." Chairman Lemke responded that "the process has been fully vetted by our legal team."
