The Litchfield Public Schools Board of Education approved its consent agenda on Oct. 15, 2024, on a motion by Marcia Provencher seconded by Julie Pennertz. The vote passed 6-0.
The consent package included routine business (minutes and board bills), an assurance of compliance report submitted to MDE, and an overnight trip request for the girls tennis team to attend the state tournament. Personnel actions cleared as part of the motion included hiring John McKenzie as a temporary grounds worker (starting Sept. 24, 2024, through about Oct. 15, 2024, up to 40 hours/week at $13.50/hour), and hiring Ravi Joel Vanlanduty Jr as a Dragon Kids Club Aide starting Oct. 7, 2024, for up to 15 hours/week at $13.50/hour. The board also recorded the resignation of Ashlynn Mattson as Middle School softball coach, effective Sept. 30, 2024.
The consent action authorized two new position postings: an Assistant Knowledge Bowl Coach at the middle school at Level VI for $1,262 for the 2024-25 season, and a Special Education paraprofessional position for the high school for up to 6.5 hours per day to meet student need. The motion was stated in the minutes as moved by Provencher and seconded by Pennertz and carried unanimously 6-0.
The approval was recorded in the minutes as a single consent motion; there were no separate roll-call tallies for each item beyond the overall 6-0 outcome.
