The Buckfield Select Board voted July 21 to approve an amended special amusement permit for the Bucket Grill & Pub following a public hearing held earlier in the evening. The motion to approve the permit included a cut to Thursday's indoor end time (to 10:15 p.m.), adjustments to Friday and Saturday hours and removal of a date beyond the applicant’s liquor-license term; the board added Aug. 14, 2027 as an alternate outdoor date within the license period.
The board also approved the Bucket Grill & Pub’s local liquor license for 2026–2027. Separately, members approved a template municipal support letter to allow the Buckfield Mall to apply to the state for an agency liquor-store license; the transcript shows two board members planned to abstain from that vote but roll-call abstention names were not recorded in the extract. For public-safety readiness the board waived the usual quote-seeking process for an emergency vehicle repair and authorized the town manager to spend up to $8,000 to replace a turbo on Tanker 1 after the truck had been out of service for weeks and the only available estimate exceeded $5,000.
