Board approves leadership contracts for John Koch and Sara Deboy

The Gresham-Barlow School District Board of Directors on June 18 approved two leadership contracts delayed while John Koch served as interim superintendent. The contracts cover the Deputy Superintendent position for John Koch and an Assistant Superintendent contract for Sara Deboy.
"These contracts are negotiated by the superintendent and employees independent of the association agreements," Chair Kris Howatt said during the meeting. The board voted 4-0 (Kris Howatt, David Ligatich, Blake Petersen and Holly Riegelmann) to adopt the contracts (MOTION 116). Directors Farrens and Gómez were absent and Position 3 (Zone 2) remains vacant.
The approval was procedural; the board did not amend contract language during the session. The district packet noted the contracts had been delayed because of Koch’s interim role. No fiscal amounts for the contracts were stated in the meeting minutes.
