The Benson County Commission voted to authorize the chair to sign the county's chip-seal contract after a motion and second; the measure passed by voice vote with no further discussion.
Chair opened the item and asked for a motion to allow the chair to sign the chip-seal contract; the motion was seconded and approved. Staff later reported that the contractor had not provided a confirmed schedule for some other chip-seal work but expected completion by Sept. 1 if the schedule holds. "We can't seem to get any kind of word from them on schedule," Jessica said when updating the board on contractor timing.
The authorization will let staff finalize procurement paperwork and proceed when the contractor sets a firm start date.
