Cascade SD 5 posts owner's-representative RFP and eyes early roofing bids ahead of bond proceeds

The superintendent told the Cascade SD 5 board the district posted a request for proposals for an owner's representative to help manage the upcoming bond program and that communications and contract work are underway.
"We put out today the RFP for a ... owner's representative," the superintendent said. He identified two internal staff partners (Tom Lovell and Jesus Chavez) and external communications lead Greg Costello as people who will coordinate on the bond project and noted the owner's-representative contract will be tailored to integrate with existing staff.
The superintendent also said staff identified immediate work that can be started before bond proceeds arrive: "we are probably 24 to 48 hours away from at least an initial bid to do some roofing," he said, adding that priorities include elementary (Olmsville K–2), sections of the junior high and a section of the high school showing leaks. Staff said they will evaluate all roofs as part of bond planning and will aim for early-fall work if schedules and weather permit.
District leaders said they will update the board again at the August meeting on progress and contract awards.
