Dr. Tracy Klinger said staff were asked to bring a policy forward outlining how spaces are named and the administrative rules associated with plaques and building names. Board members expressed interest in allowing living persons to be considered for naming, but also raised the need for a removal clause if future controversies emerge. The Policy Committee will survey other districts' policies and return the issue to a work session with recommended criteria and procedures for naming physical spaces and buildings.
