Several principals presented extended tributes to licensed staff the board honored as Teachers of the Year. Andrea Buchholz (Principal, Alameda Intermediate School) praised Katie Mason, saying, "Katie Mason is kind, compassionate, and deeply committed to her students and their families. She creates an environment where every child feels seen, valued, and supported." Other principals recognized Christina Ingalls (May Roberts Primary), Sarah Poff (Aiken Elementary), Kara Riojas and Maria Benites (Ontario Middle School), and Julie Eskelsen and Jennifer Tuttle (Ontario High School) for their contributions to students and colleagues.
The recognitions highlighted teachers' extra responsibilities, mentorship and program leadership — examples cited include leadership of TAG programs, yearbook advising and supporting credit recovery through Edgenuity. The board and audience applauded the honorees; principals noted the personal and instructional impact each recognized staff member has had on students and the school community.
