The North Bend School District #13 Board of Directors met for a work session on Oct. 17, 2024, at 6:00 PM and approved the meeting agenda unanimously. Director Michelle Roberts moved to approve the agenda as presented; Director Mary Schilling seconded the motion, which passed with six votes in favor and one absence noted for Director Dallas Petenbrink.
The board received a strategic planning update from a presenter listed in the minutes as "Performance Fact," who said the district is making progress but expressed "a slight concern with the lack of attendance at the community forum." The board also discussed the superintendent evaluation process; the minutes state, "The Board will evaluate Superintendent Swagerty on all eight standards this year," and that Superintendent Vince Swagerty will complete a self-assessment as he did last year. Board members reviewed a draft addition to policy IKF proposing a "North Bend Diploma" and suggested edits for Superintendent Swagerty to bring back to the November 2024 board meeting. The session adjourned by consensus at 7:54 PM.
