Medford School Board to explore levy options via subcommittee; no vote scheduled

At the virtual Lunch & Learn on Sept. 11, Board Chair Cynthia Wright told members the board would not make a decision on a possible local option levy at the meeting and asked interested members to volunteer for a subcommittee to explore the idea further.
“She noted that a decision would not be made at this time, but would like to form a Board subcommittee to explore the option further,” the minutes state. Chair Wright also thanked Patinkin Research Strategies for presenting the poll results and asked that members email Superintendent Champion or Executive Assistant Jodi Fahy if they wished to serve on the working group. No formal motion, vote or timeline for a final decision was recorded in the minutes.
The meeting was held virtually and was called to order at 12:05 p.m.; Chair Wright adjourned the meeting at 12:46 p.m. The board did not take any formal action to place a levy on a ballot at this session.
