District update: high school construction progressing; roofing should be complete in months

Mr. Neals provided a detailed construction update on the new high school, describing exterior finishes, glazing and roofing work across areas A–G, roofing progress in the fine arts and gym areas, completed batting cages and metal buildings in the north, and ongoing interior mechanical, electrical and plumbing work. “We’ve started a lot of the exterior finishes…we are currently working on roofing on area a, b, c, d, e, f, and g,” he said, and added that roofing across the site should be complete in “a matter of 2 or 3 months.”
He also said ground work is underway for the fieldhouse, with final slabs and paving in place and that the east practice field is completed and available for play, while the west field should be done within a week. The remarks were delivered as part of the superintendent’s construction update and were followed by brief board appreciation and acknowledgement of campus access to new athletic facilities.
