Royse City Independent School District reported a recent bond sale and an update on the 2023 bond program at its regular board meeting. Byron, speaking to the board, said the district "thankfully sold $85,000,000 this month" and that, as of the end of July, cash on hand was approximately $19.3 million.
Byron presented program totals showing a $368 million project budget with about $176 million spent to date, and said those figures factored into decisions to pause or phase certain projects to conserve cash flow. He told the board the district expects the recent sale to carry operations into next year and that staff will evaluate another bond sale next summer.
