During the consent agenda staff announced a $2,500 gift from the VFW of North Ridgeville to support the ROX (Ruling Our Experience) student program. "The VFW of North Richfield donated $2,500 to support the ROX..." the presenter said, and the board thanked the community donors.
Staff also read the human resources report as a first reading, listing multiple certified and support appointments, contract adjustments and resignations. Later in the meeting a motion to approve the human resources items was moved and seconded; the board conducted a roll-call vote and recorded unanimous approval.
Board members asked for clarification about the role and duties of certified building substitutes; staff said substitutes provide in-building coverage when regular staff are unavailable and may cover maternity leaves and other long-term absences. Several board members noted substitute availability has been a challenge since the pandemic.
