Matt Yoshioka, the district's Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, summarized the district's summer offerings for the board at the Sept. 3 work session. He listed K‑1 Jumpstart, 6th Grade Jumpstart, the PHS 9th Grade Adventure Camp, PHS Teacher Compacting Week and the PHS Summer Credit Retrieval program and said those programs included supports for students who needed extra instruction.
"Transportation and meals were provided for all programs," Yoshioka said, reporting steady participation levels. He told the board that staff considered access (transport and meals) a priority when planning summer work and that the district provided supports aimed at increasing student participation and recovery of credit over the summer.
The presentation gave the board a brief update on outcomes and logistics; no formal action was required. The report will be part of the information packet for future budget and program planning.
