Sahuarita staff say Placer AI gave them the data edge in pitching retailers

Sahuarita's economic development team says it has begun using the Placer AI platform to assemble recent, location-level visitor and demographic data when reaching out to retail chains and restaurant operators. Victor, director of economic development and public affairs, said the dataset lets staff move beyond standard demographic reports and "connect the dots" for prospective operators.
"It's called Placer AI that allows us to just have access to the most accurate and recent data on demographics, on visitors, food traffic, vehicle traffic," Alex said, describing why the team now sends targeted data packages early in the outreach process. Victor added that the combination of data and local storytelling has been pivotal in convincing some operators to consider Sahuarita.
Why it matters: The town says the approach shortens response time to retailer questions, makes outreach look more professional, and provides concrete evidence of market opportunity. Staff use the data to show not only household income and standard demographics but also travel patterns that reveal where residents currently shop and where a new location might recapture that spending.
