Board adds five expectations to superintendent operating agreement, approves policy JFCEB

The board agreed — in order of priority — that the superintendent should 1) work toward becoming a team with board members; 2) represent the district visibly in the community; 3) collaborate with the board to establish a clear district vision; 4) provide data to support data‑driven decisions; and 5) conduct a self‑assessment prior to the board’s evaluation. Carol Hacherl moved and Korinn Hockett seconded adding the five expectations in that order; the motion passed unanimously.
On policy matters, the board approved policy JFCEB (Carol Hacherl moved, Korinn Hockett seconded) and clarified they want the principal to retain final authority under the policy. Policy IKF was presented as an administrative regulation (AR) that does not require board approval; Principal Shane Brown will correct the document and Administrative Assistant Stephanie Griffith will submit it to OSBA.
