Summer learning expanded to 13 camps; district secures 2025 grant for K–9

Brittany Pogwizd told the board the district’s Summer Learning Program grew substantially this year to 13 camps across an eight‑week period, up from five camps over two weeks the prior year, with 98 total attendees. Pogwizd said the current grant funding covers kindergarten through ninth grade only and the district is actively seeking additional grants to serve older students.
Pogwizd said the program is open to home‑schooled students as well as enrolled 2CJ students and emphasized that the programs are free for participants. She plans an early‑2025 survey to gather staff and student feedback and said grant funding for the 2025 program has already been awarded.
Board members expressed appreciation for the coordinator’s efforts and welcomed program growth as a way to maintain learning momentum and community engagement over the summer months.
