Board members discussed the superintendent/board operating agreement and agreed to review an OSBA sample: Carol Hacherl moved and Bob Brown seconded that each board member choose five expectations from the sample prior to the next meeting; the motion passed unanimously. The board will revisit the operating agreement in November or at a work session.
The board also held first readings for policies JFCEB and IKF. For JFCEB the board reviewed two 2017 versions; Superintendent Aaron Miller noted version 2 appears more applicable but observed that current practice already restricts cell-phone use in class and that the policy's photo-publication restrictions could place heavy responsibility on building principals at large events. IKF will be reviewed by Principal Shane Brown and returned for first reading in November.
