Director of Finance Devin Collins told the board insurance renewals were underway and that the district was processing a number of large expected payments tied to the start of the school year. He did not report any irregularities.
Superintendent Nicole Albisu said transportation has been 'decent' but reminded parents about eligibility limits tied to distance from schools. Albisu also noted the Governor of Oregon's new requirement banning cellphones in school and reported the district has already implemented rules requiring students to put phones away during the day, making the transition smoother. Albisu cautioned staff to be mindful of spending given an economic forecast she described as not favorable.
