Business Manager Tara Garratt reported an ending fund balance of approximately $1.7 million and said Special Revenue funds are being redistributed in a number of areas. She told the board the district is on track to expend grant funds by their deadlines and that the change in kindergarten class structure will affect the ending fund balance; further calculations are pending.
In new business, Superintendent Aaron Miller read the district's Division 22 standards. He said Port Orford-Langlois SD 2CJ meets required standards, that the half-day kindergarten structure remains in compliance with state rules, and that one staff member is currently the teacher of record for dyslexia screening with plans to add another position in the future. The board also confirmed parent rights in TAG placement decisions.
