Superintendent Aaron Miller told the board that Port Orford-Langlois SD 2CJ was awarded $154,000 from the COPS grant program — roughly half of what the district requested — and that the funds will be applied to district security needs. Miller also said Wendy Tomko submitted an Oregon Department of Forestry grant request for about $40,000 to support an orchard for the district's Horticulture class.
Miller said current ODE 'At A Glance' reporting contains inaccuracies and he will investigate whether ODE republishes corrected figures; he expects initial corrected reports to be available at the district's November meeting. Miller also noted a parent/community input session is scheduled for Nov. 12.
