District seeks Integrated Guidance funding; special board meeting set to approve application
Summary
District staff presented the Integrated Guidance (IG) Plan aligning several funding streams (SIA, HSS, Early Literacy, CTE) to priorities including early literacy, belonging, and career-connected learning. Staff will submit the application to ODE by April 30; the board scheduled a special meeting April 29 to review and approve the application.
Director Shannon Brennan presented the North Wasco Consortium's Integrated Guidance plan, which aligns Student Investment Account, High School Success, Early Literacy and other funding around the district's 2022-2027 strategic plan and targeted supports for historically underserved students.
Brennan summarized planned investments including Youth Outreach Workers (CSI/TSI-funded), Science of Reading professional development, curriculum materials, social-emotional interventions and more than 32 FTE of staffing supported by SIA. She said staff will monitor local performance metrics (I-Ready, HMH Growth, curriculum assessments), staff and student surveys, and participate in ODE's intensive program supports. Michelle Dawkins of Mosier Community School described priorities she contributed: literacy coaching, staffing, clubs and MAP testing for progress monitoring.
Brennan asked the board to approve the IG application so staff could submit to the Oregon Department of Education by the April 30 deadline; the board scheduled a special meeting April 29 to review and consider approval.
