Board approves conditional use permit for accessory septic at Union Lake parcel

Planning staff presented the Erickson conditional use permit for Parcel 74.01233 in Paradise Pointe on Union Lake, describing an existing 26-by-30 garage and a proposal to add a bathroom served by a holding-tank septic system. Staff noted DNR conditions: "No living, sleeping 0.25, or kitchen facilities shall be added to the new or future accessory structures" and emphasized setbacks, vegetation retention and the requirement to record a signed no-guest-house waiver before issuance of a building permit.
Staff said the garage and proposed system meet setback and impervious-surface limits and recommended approval with conditions including a one-year void clause if the conditional use is not used. A commissioner moved to approve with the recommended conditions, another seconded, and the board carried the motion.
