District to hire IMEG for wood-beam inspections and approves asphalt repairs

Administration told the board that "That TAP grant was in the amount of 25,000," and recommended awarding an inspection bid to IMEG for $24,950 to inspect wood beams across six buildings, a preventative step after a past snow-related gym collapse. The board approved the recommendation; administrators said IMEG will begin work after July 1 and the regional ESD will help coordinate inspections.
On a separate facilities item, the board approved an asphalt contract with Central Washington to complete paving work across Mac High and Central campus areas, including paths, playground areas and staff parking, and identified ADA locations discovered in an audit. Administration noted the schedule locks in last year's oil pricing and work will be done once school is out for summer.
