During the action-item discussion the administration said of the early-literacy award, "It's for $25,525." The board moved, seconded and approved the recommendation by voice vote. Administrators noted the ODE grant is additional funding on top of prior literacy support and that the foundation award will help the FFA team advancing to national competition.
Board members asked clarifying questions about the amount and how it supplements existing funding; administrators said the ODE grant will buy additional slots in the program and will be administered through district grant processes.
