At its regular meeting the Royse City ISD Board of Trustees approved multiple personnel actions and adopted the 2026–27 district calendar.
The board approved the consent agenda by voice/hand vote and then moved to approve hires and resignations presented from closed session. Each motion was seconded and carried with a 5–0 vote, as recorded by the chair.
Trustees also approved the superintendent’s annual appraisal and voted to award a new superintendent contract; the board chair announced the motions passed 5–0. The superintendent thanked the board for their support and expressed appreciation for the district team.
The board later approved the proposed 2026–27 calendar (presented after staff said 64% of community votes favored that draft). The calendar includes 165 student days, approximately 7,805 instructional minutes, roughly 2.65 bank days and 17 professional days. The board chair recorded a 5–0 vote to adopt the calendar.
An informational item on a TEA missed-school-day waiver was discussed and tabled for action at the next meeting because of a misprinted date; staff said they will return in March with corrected paperwork.
