The district's external auditor, Robert Lake, presented the fiscal-year audit and delivered an unmodified (clean) opinion on the financial statements. Lake summarized key figures and noted no findings on compliance or internal controls.
Lake reported government-wide net position of about $22.2 million (an increase of approximately $2.2 million), total revenues of roughly $159 million (a 5% increase year over year), and total expenses near $157 million. He also said total outstanding debt was about $673 million as of the auditfigures are as of June 30 and do not reflect later activity. "We issue an unmodified opinion," Lake said.
Board members asked no substantive questions during the presentation and the board approved the audited financials by recorded voice/hand-raise vote, 7-0.
