District reports steady progress on Worthy Fate High School; approves site maintenance and GMP closeout for Magnus

Construction representatives told trustees that the new Worthy Fate High School is largely roofed and that interior finishes — painting, ceiling work and rooftop units — are underway. The district has permanent power and gas on-site and is working through sewer easements; trustees heard that the project is progressing toward being "dried in" while select areas remain to be finished.
"We're down to about 2 areas left the roof to be completely dried in the main building," the construction representative said, noting that classroom finish work and rooftop-unit installation are advancing. The board then approved a three-year site maintenance contract with Northstar with a not-to-exceed ceiling of $1,276,000 to maintain the paused David and Shirley Magnus Middle School site (fencing, cameras, erosion control, storage of fixtures and periodic inspections). Trustees later approved a negative change order to close out the Magnus GMP; administration reported $24,736,214 spent to date against an original GMP of $75,510,902.
