Royse City ISD honors students and campus principals at monthly board meeting

Board members opened the Royse City Independent School District meeting with student recognitions and a formal acknowledgment of campus principals. Chair called forward seventh-grade students for photos and the pledges; the board later highlighted Royce City High School students named to the 2025 College Board National Recognition Program.
"It is a great honor to be here tonight," Scott Mary, principal of Royce City High School, said as he detailed the academic criteria for the recognition, including PSAT standing or scoring 3 or above on an AP exam. Dr. Lori Squalls later asked the principals to join the board for a round of applause and described principals as "instructional leaders" and "advocates" who do the quiet, constant work that keeps schools running. The board noted that several principals were newly appointed over recent years and thanked staff and families for their support.
