Board approves hire of paraprofessionals, custodian and tutors

Trustee Oliver moved and Trustee Greer seconded approval of the employment list for paraprofessionals and after-school staff. Hires approved included Chanell Davis (Instructional Aide at Parrish, retroactive Oct. 14), Ashlyn Fox (EOC Aide at Lewis, retroactive Oct. 20), China Sutton (Instructional Aide at Parrish), Siham Touza (after-school, retroactive Oct. 1), Courtney Adams (after-school), Bernard Hutcherson (custodian at Carbondale Middle School, retroactive Oct. 6), Mariam Atme (bilingual Arabic paraprofessional at Parrish, pending clear CBI), Melissa Goodman (part-time cook’s helper at Carbondale Middle School, pending clear CBI), and tutors Brent Jackson and Vanessa Thomas (retroactive Oct. 20).
Roll call votes on the employment items were unanimous among present trustees (Field, Greer, McHenry, Cawthon, Oliver); Trustees Hunt and Major were absent. Several approvals were noted as "retroactive" to specified effective dates and some hires were contingent on clear criminal background checks (CBI).
