The Uwchlan Township Planning Commission voted Aug. 5 to recommend adoption of a revised industrial-use ordinance that tightens review standards and limits certain operations. A presenter for the draft said the updates "added consideration for commercial delivery vehicles," strengthened the substantial-change-in-use provisions and removed the ability to have on-site power generation for normal operations except for solar.
Commissioners discussed whether nondisclosure agreements might be used by applicants; one commissioner asked whether the commission could be asked to sign NDAs, and staff replied that while an applicant "could try to put it under an NDA," submissions generally must be public record. The commission voted to forward the recommendation to the Board of Supervisors for final action.
The decision was procedural: the commission motion to recommend the ordinance was made and seconded and passed without a recorded roll call. The recommendation will appear on a future Board of Supervisors agenda for adoption.
