District continues ELA rollout; math curriculum review planned

Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Michelle Martin reported progress on ELA curriculum work and farther-reaching plans for math curriculum review.
Martin said the Parrish ELA Cadre presented updated curriculum maps, weekly plans and ELA resources and will work on common assessments and full LETRS implementation. She added she will start work with the Parrish Math Cadre to update kindergarten and 1st-grade curriculum maps and use an instructional walkthrough tool adapted from Victor Young to monitor implementation and guide targeted professional development.
Martin also described progress with Tier 3 intervention tracking in EduClimber and plans to migrate Tier 2 intervention tracking into that system by the end of the school year. She said middle school math curriculum review will be undertaken later this year with recommendations to follow.
