The Sept. 23 Spring Branch ISD board meeting included a broad consent agenda that the trustees approved with one item pulled for separate discussion. The consent package included the budget status summary with amendments as of Aug. 31, 2024; the Facility Improvement Program monthly status report with project budget changes as of Aug. 31, 2024; multiple contract awards (pest-control chemicals and supplies; first-aid/AED equipment and components; an interlocal agreement with Texas A&M University for athletic concessions; equipment replacement at Spring Woods High School; disaster recovery and claims management services; digital multi-function copiers and services; and a change order for Ag Farm Renovations related to the 2022 bond project).
Trustee David Slattery removed item C3 (the Texas A&M interlocal agreement) for separate discussion and asked about prior options discussed; Associate Superintendent Christine Porter provided an update. After the discussion the board approved the pulled item by a 7–0 vote and passed the remainder of the consent agenda in a single motion. Consent agenda items also listed the district's 2023 certified tax rolls, the annual review of the investment policy, a request to the Texas Education Agency for a maximum class-size exception, teacher appraisers for 2024–25, acceptance of gifts, grant awards, payroll and operating expenses for August 2024, tax overpayment refunds, and minutes approvals for several prior meetings.
