Board signs off on stipends, salary schedules and a district compensation plan

At its July 13 meeting the Spearman I.S.D. Board of Trustees approved the district’s 2026–27 stipend list (Exhibit D) and the salary schedule for nurses, librarians and counselors (Exhibit E). The approved stipend list includes line items such as HS band director $10,000 and counselor‑HS $8,000; Exhibit E shows step salaries and a $3,000 master’s degree stipend.
Trustees also approved a district compensation plan that provides a 2% pay increase for campus administrators and administrative office staff, a standard state step increase for eligible teachers, and designated step increases for auxiliary staff. The board approved revised pay schedules for 2026–27 but tabled action on substitute‑teacher pay rates pending additional information.
The motions passed unanimously. Board members noted that these approvals are part of budget preparation and hiring considerations ahead of the 2026–27 school year.
